Backstory:

Skydiving is an extreme sport where you use a parachute to sale safely to the ground after jumping out of an airplane.  A Parachute is a device that is used to drop things to the ground at a safe and slow speed.  In todays project we are going to make a cool parachute for our Pritt stick.

Step 1

Cut the plastic garbage bag into a square of 30 cm by 30 cm.

Step 2

Cut the string into four 15 cm long strands.

Step 3

Cover 2 cm of each piece of string with a generous amount of Pritt glue.

Step 4

Place 1 strand of glued string in each corner of the cut out plastic bag, as shown in the picture.

Step 5

Fold the plastic in each corner over their respective strings.

Wait 10 minutes for the glue to dry.

Step 6

Remove the lid from your Pritt glue stick.

Step 7

Stick 1 cm from each end of the 4 strands to the empty glue head.

Step 8

Place the glue cap back on the Pritt stick.

How to use your parachute:

Step 1

Hold the top of your parachute.

Step 2

Fold the Pritt stick back onto the parachute.

Step 3

Hold both the parachute and Pritt stick in your hand.

Step 4

Throw it in the air and watch it glide down to the ground!

Tips & Tricks:

The string should be thin but strong, tooth-floss works well.
