The guitar is a popular string instrument. It is used in many types of popular music. The family of guitar type instruments comes from Asia and the oldest pictures of people playing the instrument are 3300 years old. Today you can make your own guitar with the following fun Pritt project.
Collect all the tools and materials
Cut out all the images from the documents that have been printed out.
Image 1 and 2 are used to make a paper template of the guitar. We have to use our handy Pritt stick to glue image 1 to image 2.
Image 1 is a paper template, which we use to draw the outline of the guitar on the cardboard sheets. We need to make 3 layers with a hole and one without a hole. Use your pencil to draw the 4 outlines of the guitar.
Get an adult to help you cut out the 4 templates of the cardboard that you have made.
Use a generous amount of Pritt glue on each layer of cardboard. Then stick the layers together. The 3 parts with a hole have to be together and the one part with out a hole must be on the outside.
Now stick image 3 and 4 together to make the outer image of the guitar.
Now place a generous amount of Pritt glue on the outer face of the guitar with the hole.
Gently stick the outer image of the guitar to the outer face of the guitar.
Get an adult to help you make 4 holes in the head of the guitar.
Now your guardian must help with making 4 holes at the base of the guitar.
Cut the 4 elastic bands in half.
Thread the elastic bands through the holes made, so that they run the length of the fret board in parallel.
Tie the elastic bands to the 2 paper clips as shown in the picture.
Place the two short pencils under the guitar strings (elastic bands) as shown in the picture.
And that is it!
You are now ready to make some Rock & Roll.
We hope you have lots of fun with your Pritt guitar project.
We would love to see pictures of you projects. You can ask your mom or dad to post pictures to our Facebook wall at “Pritt world”
